Hello all--moving out of lurking mode.

I was disappointed to read in one of Andy's latest interviews that he and
Colin are going through a "divorce" but at least they are on the same page
regarding their "kids". Luckily, based on prior interviews/photos Andy and
Dave have patched up their divorce issues and are friendly again.

I'd love to see Dave release Dr. Gregory's Instrumental Asylum either as
lossless files on the internet or as a CD (preferrably) from his website.
I've never understood Dave's reluctance to record an album with proper songs
that he's written. I realize that he worries about comparison's to Andy and
Colin's stuff but he left XTC over a decade ago so it seems to me he would
have enough distance from XTC. Then again, like The Beatles, once a Beatle
always a Beatles so I'm sure the same is true of XTC.

The Dukes reissues sound extremely good. Kudos to Andy and the mastering
engineer for doing such a great job. They are slightly louder than the
original reissues but they aren't noticably compressed and sound quite
"natural". The artwork is terrific as are the bonus tracks.

As for Colin perhaps he'll decide at some point to do a "solo" album. I'd
like to see Andy finish his album with Robyn Hitchcock but with Robyn
traveling the world touring, it's kind of hard for a guy who is based in
Swindon and doesn't want to budge.

I certainly understand Andy's reluctance to hang with fans...I'm sure it's
awkward for him and distracts him from making music.

I admire Andy though for NOT carrying on as XTC by himself. I would however
like to see "Where Did the Ordinary People Go" available as a lossless
download or on CD perhaps we can see it released on a rarities type of disc.

I'm off. Happy 4th of July to all of those in the U.S.!

I've seen Pugwash mentioned here previously and one of their number - Thomas
Walsh - is co-partner with Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy) in
'The Duckworth Lewis Method' - about to release a CD with a cricket theme
...
There are a number of tunes that recall aspects of XTC (+ the Kinks etc) at
their more English pastoral
- 'Flatten the Hay' suggest anything??

The whole album is currently streaming free on The Times website

Hi:

Over at the XTCfans MySpace site (http://www.myspace.com/xtcfans), the
song of the week is "I'm the Man Who Murdered Love."

If you want to know which animal Andy would like to see Hannah Montana
caught in a tryst with, or what the difference is between a wah-wah
pedal and George W. Bush, check out the XTCfans blog site at
http://blog.myspace.com/xtcfans.

He was begging on his bended knee
For me to put him from his misery...

Hello everyone,

Many moons have passed since I posted anything to the 'Hills. I doubt if
many of you remember me.

I've contributed to past Chalkhills compilations performing cover versions
of Andy's and Colin's songs.

I finally decided 2 years ago to start doing something about writing and
performing my own music.

So, you can find some of my stuff on http://myspace.com/iMADEtheBBC (spot
the Father Ted reference?)

My debut CD EP has just been released and can be bought either as a physical
CD or MP3 download from http://cdbaby.com/cd/peterfitzpatrick
If you're an Amazon type of person (maybe you've got a gift card you'd like
to use?) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002G7TEBQ/ref=cm_sw_su_dp

If you're an iTunes type of person there is a direct link from the Myspace
page above.

I produced recorded the CD at my home studio (Applevenus Studio). It's a
real DIY independent release.

XTC content? Well Andy once called me a gentleman and Gregsy gets my name
mixed up.
That and I pinched a line from 'Wrapped in Grey' for one of the songs on my
EP.

So, until next time... from Dublin with stuff and things,

Peter
